The much anticipated launch of the largest personal defense television block in history will debut on Viacom’s Spike TV network Saturday July 17 at 9am Eastern. ‘Don’t be a Victim’ will bring proven methods, advice, and products to millions of viewers—some of whom have already been victims of crime and others that will be awakened to the need for personal protection by this groundbreaking programming. With riveting storytelling and best-in-class production values, ‘Don’t be a Victim’ will resonate with millions of viewers and it will be the two hours of television that criminals do not want you to see.
Consisting of four, 30-minute series and three branded vignettes, the July 17 block will explore the infamous 1991 shooting at the Luby’s Cafeteria in Killeen, Texas, and how one woman might have changed history that day had she been allowed to carry her handgun into the restaurant. Would you know how to respond to an armed intruder? Watch Beretta’s ‘Because Lives Depend on It’ and you’ll learn from a panel of experts how to keep yourself and your family safe in the event of a home invasion. Given the rise of workplace violence, do you have a plan to escape and survive? Tune in to the Sig Sauer Academy and what you learn may save your life. Staying safe starts with a personal protection plan and the ‘Practical Tactical’ team of authorities will show you four keys to staying alive. You’ll also find out how one cop’s advice to a woman changed her from potential victim to survivor in ‘Even the Odds.’ If you don’t think crime can find you, follow nine students—many of whom have been victims of violent crime—as they undergo weapons training and vow to never again be a victim in Ruger’s ‘Conceal Carry School.’
